Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa!

The holiday season is upon us! It's everyone's favorite time of the year as friends and families gather to enjoy each other's company and celebrate family traditions.

There are so many fun and exciting traditions out there during the holiday season. Two of which are coming up!

Happy Hanukkah to all of our Jewish gummy lovers. The festival of lights! This year, Hanukkah is set to start on November 28th for eight crazy nights, ending on December 6th. The tradition of Hanukkah stems from the legend of the Maccabees heroically rededicating the Holy Temple from the Seleucid Empire in Jerusalem in the 2nd Century BCE. The historic eight nights refer to the Maccabees only having enough oil to last 1 night after the revolt of the Holy Temple. Miraculously, the oil lasted 8 nights, hence the length of Hanukkah every year! Traditions of the holiday include lighting the menorah, making Latkes and playing dreidel! Typically, dreidel is played by betting gold chocolate coins (otherwise known as Gelt) with your partners. That's not to say you can't play with our delicious Good News Gummies!

Another tradition celebrated close to Christmas is Kwanzaa! Kwanzaa runs from December 26th to January 1st. This holiday is typically celebrated by African-Americans as a means to reconnect with their African roots and heritage. The celebration centers around community, family, culture... and food! Kwanzaa can directly translate to "first fruit" which marks the first day of harvest. On the 6th day of Kwanzaa, friends and family gather and feast to strengthen themselves for the upcoming harvest. This feast is called Karamu... and it sounds delicious!

No matter what or how you celebrate this year, enjoy your time with family and friends and recuperate for the new year!

Happy Holidays!
